2008 Beijing Olympics

I think it would be appropriate to call it smog. Beijing has the same type of inversion layer Los Angeles does, probably worse with no ocean breezes to clear it out, so the air looks like this. True even though they made herculean efforts ot reduce driving and plant operations in the months before the Olympics. But did not burn the eyes or hinder the experience in any way and some days were clearer than this.

Is the haze smog?
